“If you’re a terrorist (or a national hero, depending on who’s looking at you), there are relatively few of you and relatively a lot of the big guys you’re up against. Terrorism is about branding because a brand is most of what you have as a terrorist. Terrorists have virtually no resources. I don’t even like using the word terrorism. It’s not an accurate descriptor of what’s going on.” —The Vulture Transcript: Sci-Fi Author William Gibson on Why He Loves Twitter, Thinks Facebook Is ‘Like a Mall,’ and Much More — Vulture

“

Senator Arbib was published in The Australian on November 6 with his declaration that Labor’s present stance was unfair.

“If I was the parent of a gay son or daughter, I don’t know how I could tell them they didn’t have the same rights as I do,” he told The Australian.

Presumably, if Senator Arbib was being entirely frank with his fictitious gay son or daughter, he would disclose the fact that gay marriage is presently unavailable in Australia because Daddy used his numbers to squash it.

“But the point here is that we’re hardly America’s only special relationship. In July, Obama hailed the “truly special relationship” between the US and UK, telling David Cameron there was “no closer ally and no closer partner” than Britain. In March, vice president Joe Biden said: “The US has no better friend in the community of nations than Israel.” Last July, Obama told the Indian people that “they have no better friend and partner than the people of the United States”. One could provide more such quotes, but you get the point: we’re not so special after all.” —Get real about our ‘special relationship’ - Unleashed (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

“To be fair, you are very stupid. When presented with something that does not match your very rigid preconceptions of what should entertain you this very second, you lash out with the all the weaponry at your disposal, spitting flechettes of feeble cruelty at the slightest provocation. If you could, when presented with your french fries on the left side of the plastic tray and not the obviously superior right side, you would reach across the counter and give the cashier’s nipples a hard twist. And then call him unprofessional.” —You Write ‘Bias Journalism’ and I Read ‘Derp’
